Why Pay for Food Delivery?
When we provide full staff, the captain and the delivery driver can communicate to ensure the drop-off and set-up run smoothly. This allows the host to attend to more pressing details. Staff will get the food set-up expertly and have it ready for your guests.
Our drivers are familiar with the area and can troubleshoot on the road, find alternate routes when traffic stacks up or roads become blocked. Having locals deliver makes sense as they do not have to rely on gps, as gps does not always work at all venues.
Sometimes clients will try to cut costs by having a friend or family member pick up their food. If you consider this option, make sure that their vehicle is large enough to hold your order. Depending on your guest count and your menu you could have 1-3 large boxes of food. Plus, potentially several gallons of tea/lemonade. This is a little too much for a passenger car, but is often accomplished in a van or SUV. You could ask your catering manager about the size of the delivery. If you choose this option, please make sure your delivery driver has a detailed itinerary, can get the food to the venue with plenty of time to spare for set-up, but not too much time so that your food gets cold, and is ready to connect with the catering captain at delivery.
